MASTER CHEF YOSHI CHUBACHI
“My inspiration is influenced by our natural surroundings and from the elements of minerals and gemstones. I’ve incorporated this within each dish that inspire our corporate brand. Traditionally, my cuisine is influenced with French and Asian infusion personal ice carvings.”
Chef Yoshi arrived in Canada in 1980 as a Japanese Red Seal Chef after spending time as a stagiaire in areas of Japan and France and has been based in Western Canada since 1984. During his time in Canada, Chubachi has earned ten gold championship medals from world-renowned International Culinary Competitions as a Member of Team Canada. Furthermore, he is credited with transforming the culinary program of The Rimrock Resort of Banff as Executive Chef of Eden, achieving the hotel’s first AMA 5 Diamond designation.
Currently acting as Executive Chef at Azuridge Estate Hotel, Chef Yoshi Chubachi incorporates his Asian and French influences while he challenges the traditional Canadian cuisine. Guests can expect a menu that will feature local game and inspiration by the natural elements of minerals and gemstones – a signature of Azuridge Estate Hotel.
In addition to his culinary achievements, Chef Yoshi is an accomplished and award-winning ice carver, and is known for incorporating large scale and individualized ice sculptures into his menu items and special events.
